I write recreationally and although I try to do my civic duty by staying informed, I am not infallible or a virtuoso in everything. Cross-referencing sources and determining bias is a full time job. Hello, fellow readers. I'm so glad to have you. My pseudonym, THEFEMPOET, stands for both female and feminist and represents the lens through which I write and how I connect with those in my periphery. It represents being unashamed of my gender. My blog posts are the creative coalescence of my unique experiences and my simultaneous deconstruction of the world around me.
As a person who benefits from whiteness, I try to use my privilege to spread awareness of modern issues by highlighting the intersectionality of feminism and human rights so that we, as a community, can make positive change. In that same vein, I acknowledge that although I do my best to be inclusive of all, there are limits to my perspective. I am always learning and always growing.
Furthermore, while I do provide some sources to support my ideas, I acknowledge the limits of my own research and encourage everyone to investigate any topics of interest more deeply at their leisure.
